What is PetKeeper Secrets?

PetKeeper Secrets is unique in the odor and stain remover category. Here’s why:

How does PetKeeper Secrets Odor & Stain Remover work?

  • For odors: It pulls particles out of the air, captures them and drops them to the ground. According to third party testing (Applied Consumer Labs), it actually eliminates 95.6% of these particles from the air.
  • For spots & stains: Scientifically the molecules in PetKeeper Secrets are tiny. This small size enables it to dig deep into carpet or upholstery fibers, without scrubbing, to remove the mess. Once that happens, the minerals completely dehydrate so no rinsing is required.

Is it safe to use?

Absolutely. The ready-to-use product is perfectly safe for you, and your family of pets. It’s free from all sorts of substances that can cause ill health such as: fragrances, VOCs (volatile organic compounds), alcohols and enzymes & bacteria.

What’s in PetKeeper Secrets?

PetKeeper Secrets Odor & Stain Remover contains a blend of mineral concentrates including baking soda, carbonates, Trona, 1/5th of 1% elemental mineral phosphates and zeolite.

How much should I use?

One packet is enough to fill a 32oz bottle. PetKeeper Secrets doesn’t recommend using more than one packet. More is not better. It will leave a white film on hard surfaces if you add more than one packet to a bottle.

It didn’t take out the stain, now what?

There is a difference between spots and stains. Certain spots are easy to get out (mustards and red dyes are not easily removed for instance). Stains are more difficult because usually they have dried and set. You may need to apply multiply treatments to pull out stains on carpet.

How do I remove spots on carpet?

  1. Scrape up any solids (vomit, feces etc.)
  2. Spray a circle, using the product, around the spot so urine or solids won’t spread.
  3. Blot up any liquids (urine etc.) carefully with a towel or absorbent material. Press gently with your foot or hand in the beginning. What you want to avoid is forcing the liquid deeper into the carpet.
  4. Continue applying pressure, with another absorbent towel, until no more liquid is absorbed.
  5. Next, spray PetKeeper Secrets around the spot, spiraling toward the center.
  6. Wait a minute.
  7. Blot the area again (avoid rubbing your carpet here because carpet fibers can turn fuzzy or frizzy looking).
  8. Rinsing not required.

How do I remove stains on carpet?

Repeat the entire procedure, but be sure to let the product sit for at least 15 minutes. Then repeat the process. Your stain will be either gone or greatly reduced. Old set in or deep stains require more treatments to be effectively removed.

The odor is still there, now what?

If the odor returns, you might need to look into cleaning the spots and stains on your carpet more thoroughly, even underneath the carpet and into the padding. Also, consider cleaning your entire carpet. theses ducts, too.

Will it hurt my furniture?

As with any liquid,you want to avoid unfinished wood. If you do get some on the wood, immediately wipe it up. Some upholstered furniture is covered with natural fibers (cotton and silk to name a few), that’s why it’s important to test in an inconspicuous area before cleaning.

I have an expensive wool carpet, should I use this product?

While you can use PetKeeper Secrets on wool, we advise against it. Purchase a cleaning product, that is certified Wool Safe Approved or use a service that specifically knows how to clean wool carpet safely.

Can I use it directly on my pet?

Yes. PetKeeper Secrets chemist, says, “The product is perfectly safe on fur and won’t either attack or discolor it. It may in some cases cause mild irritation to the skin of some pets as well as humans if they have a skin type that is easily irritated anyway. This is an individual response to the alkalinity of the product and varies considerably.”

Can I use it on floors?

Yes, however the product can be slippery when wet.

I used too much product, will anything happen?

If you happen to use too much of the product it could leave a white finish on hard surfaces. Wipe it up with a damp cloth.

My child drank some of the liquid product, what will happen?

If swallowed, do not induce vomiting, just drink water. If a child swallowed a large amount of it, don’t induce vomiting. Call 1-800-255-3924.

My child ate some of the powder, what will happen?

If they did not swallow it, wash out his/her mouth thoroughly with water. If they did swallow it, call 1-800-255-3924.

I got some in my eye, now what?

Rinse your eye with clean water. If eye irritation continues after rinsing, seek medical attention. Remove contact lenses if sprayed in eyes.

Do I have to use a bottle you supply?

You can use your own bottle. Just use a brand new one, instead of a used one because PetKeeper Secrets ingredients will actually pull the residue from whatever was the inside of a used bottle.
