Kitten season is fast approaching
Yes kittens are cute, but owning an adult cat has its advantages. For one thing their personality is set. You know what you’re getting. Consider Morris.
You remember Morris?
Morris was the spokescat for the popular cat food brand 9Lives from 1969-1978. His name was Lucky and he was adopted, as an adult, from a shelter In Illinois. When shelter personnel noticed his unique personality, they contacted an animal trainer who worked for an advertising agency.
At the first casting call, or so the story goes, Morris jumped on the art director’s table and bumped heads with him, then sat back and waited. Thus began the start of Morris’ television career of which he did 58 commercials. He was a media darling.
Loved by all
Morris not only gained fame from advertisements, he visited schools for Be Kind to Animals week and let hundreds of children pet him. He received an enormous amount of fan mail enough to warrant his own personal secretary.
Go past the tiny
This fall, head to a shelter, walk right past those kittens with their unknown personality, and head to the adult feline section. After all it might be the only way to discover the next media darling.:)
